GTTC Wins Negligence Case Against Apartment Complex in Hash Oil Explosion
August 10, 2015
In August 2015, GTTC’s Michael Rosenberger and Chelsey Mam tried and won a bench trial in King County Superior Court against Hampton Greens, a Bellevue, WA, apartment complex, and its property manager, Riverstone, Inc. Our client, a tenant in Hampton Greens, was injured and lost valuable personal property when a tenant in an adjacent unit caused an explosion and fire when manufacturing hash oil. GTTC proved the defendants were negligent for failing to take action to commence eviction after receiving a report of the drug operation. The court awarded GTTC’s client the full value of his destroyed property and general damages within the specific range asked for in closing argument.
