GMT Wins $10 Million Judgment for Costco Wholesale Corp.
On May 1, 2001, GMT secured an insurance coverage victory for
Costco Wholesale Corp. in the United States District Court for the
Western District of Washington. The case involved a claim for insurance
coverage under an "all risk" property policy for a "settling"
warehouse in New Rochelle, New York. The Court awarded Costco over
$10 million in damages and prejudgment interest, as well as GMT’s
attorneys’ fees. In addition, the Court granted Costco declaratory
relief for costs associated with future remedial efforts.
