McDonnell Douglas Workers' Compensation Arbitration
Jim Murray and Frank Cordell recently concluded a week-long arbitration on behalf of McDonnell Douglas Corporation (as a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company) against its historical workers' compensation insurer, Industrial Indemnity (now Fremont Indemnity). The San Francisco arbitration, conducted under California law, was tried to a three-member panel, with retired California Supreme Court Justice Edward A. Panelli presiding. The contract dispute involves the appropriate calculation of premiums under the MDC workers' compensation program in place with Industrial Indemnity from 1970 to 1995.

A decision is expected by May 2003.
