GMT Client Prevails in Disability Benefits Appeal.
GMT partner Frank Cordell represents a former executive of
a major Northwest company in connection with her claim for long-term
disability benefits under a group policy issued by CIGNA. The insurer
denied the executive's claim. GMT pursued the next stage of the claim
process, an appeal to a review panel within the insurer. In April
2004, CIGNA reversed the denial and granted the executive full benefits.
