Dave Simmonds’ practice emphasizes complex securities and commercial matters. For the last 20 years, Dave has been the architect behind major securities law and corporate governance litigation. This includes the largest judgment and recovery in the 75-year history of the federal insider-trading statute, Section 16(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Dave also has represented clients before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the American Stock Exchange, and state and federal regulatory agencies, and has served as president and CEO of a publicly-traded company.
Dave graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 1976. He received his undergraduate degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley in 1972. Dave joined Gordon Tilden Thomas & Cordell LLP as Of Counsel in November 2009.
