Katie Wan is an honors graduate of the University of Washington School of Law. She returns to GTTC after two stints as a GTTC summer associate and serving as a law clerk to Justice Susan Owens at the Washington Supreme Court. Katie is active in all of the firm’s practice areas, but specializes in prosecuting insurance bad faith claims, securing coverage for historical bodily injury and/or property damage, complex commercial litigation, and trusts and estates litigation.
Katie is experienced in all phases of litigation, from conducting pre-suit negotiations, drafting pleadings and motions, arguing motions, defending and taking depositions, and settling high stakes claims at mediation. She also has trial experience, sitting second chair, arguing motions, and examining witnesses before a jury. Katie has been voted a Washington “Rising Star” in Thomson Reuters every year since 2023.
Katie came to GTTC through LEAD-WA (www.lead-wa.org), a group comprised of employers committed to expanding career opportunities for lawyers of diverse backgrounds. While in law school, she was co-director of the UW Asian Pacific American Law Student Association’s Mentorship Program. She believes strongly in mentoring minority law students and enjoys advising current UW students.

PERSONAL
I enjoy spending my free time learning new recipes, reading classic literature, and watching European soccer. I grew up around the world, including Amsterdam and London, and still enjoy international travel. When it gets cold enough I like to ski at Stevens Pass.
