Six-figure settlement in gender and race discrimination lawsuit
Kasey Huebner achieved a six-figure settlement for a client who experienced serious and on-going gender and race-based discrimination in the workplace. This settlement is notable because the client had not been terminated or demoted. As a result, the payment was based almost entirely on the client’s emotional distress damages, rather than wage loss.
Summary judgment in favor of employer upheld on appeal
Kasey Huebner achieved summary judgment in favor of an employer who faced a lawsuit by an employee who had been terminated after engaging in harassing behaviors toward other employees. On appeal, Kasey successfully argued that the summary judgment decision should be upheld.
